Can't say enough how good this place has been to me

Late night i was driving towards des moines got tired so pulled over. I checked in to best budget inn and i was surprised with nice and kind staff. Rooms were nice and super clean i will definitely stay here next time.

Clean rooms, very nice owner, best motel for the price.

Firstly, I wanted to say that these service you get from the people that run this place, is absolutely excellent. They truly do care about your comfort, and making sure that everything is perfect for your stay. Paulis was very helpful in finding me a clean, spacious room with a TV, and a nice hot shower, in addition to a wonderful bathroom heat lamp. The bed was soft as were the pillows, and the various lighting was a very good touch. However, the room could have used a few more accessible Outlets, especially near the bed. In addition, it seems that the smoking rooms are all on the second floor, where the heat rises to, and the non-smoking rooms are on the first floor, some of which face the front, where the Sun hits, and most likely helps to warm their rooms, but the corridor I was in, was an unheated, covered corridor, that felt like you were outside, or walking through a walk-in freezer. Therefore, the large room heaters, installed in the outer wall near the door, noisily sucked in all of the cold air in that outer corridor, fighting to heat it up as it blew it into my room, but it only made the air colder. Expressing my deepest apologies, but that I was freezing in my room, Paulis graciously brought me a space heater, and I ended up turning off the room heater, due to it bringing in the cold air, and used only the space heater. Space heater did not fill the entire room with heat, so I ended up placing it on an overturned garbage can, and placing it a few feet from my bed, facing me, just to keep me warm, even under the blankets. The room would be perfect for summer time, but not the best for winter. Due to the service that I received, I would return to the Budget Inn Motel, in Storm Lake, Iowa. I would of course ask for a more powerful space heater. I would like to suggest to the owners of the motel, that they not only seal the windows and doors of the motel rooms a bit better, but that they heat the outer corridor for the rooms at the rear of the building. If nothing else, circulate the air through that corridor from end to end, and perhaps seal off, the entrance way, from the outside, where the stairs are, just outside the ice machine room. These things would really help in warming that Corridor up, and making it so that the heaters are not running constantly, in hopes of creating warm air from that frigid corridor.
